The largest change is that the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and its two draws, Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
The latter is Star Wars Land’s blockbuster ride, a modern masterpiece of Imagineering that is already hugely popular. It uses a virtual queue and boarding pass system and doesn’t have FastPass or standby lines. You will have to arrive before park opening and have a good plan of attack to have some chance of experiencing it.
Before we get to the nuts and bolts of Disneyland vacation planning, let us provide some quick background. Disneyland is”Walt Disney’s first magic kingdom.” It is the castle park which surfaced in 1955 and paved the way for additional such theme parks around the planet. However, it is the only park that Walt Disney himself put foot and had an active part in the creation of. Beyond its historic heritage which makes it a California association, Disneyland is unbelievably attraction-dense, having sufficient rides to fulfill two full days or longer (if you’re so inclined).
Directly across from Disneyland is Disney California Adventure (DCA), the next heart of Disneyland Resort. DCA is apparently motivated from the Golden State, but is much more just a catch-all park with a few attractions Employing a vague California connection and others being pushed by Disney franchises.
In addition to the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure theme parks, Disneyland Resort is home to Downtown Disney and three official resorts. Downtown Disney is a shopping, dining and entertainment district just outside the 2 parks. The aforementioned hotels are Paradise Pier Hotel, Disneyland Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel–that is directly linked to DCA. The entirety of Disneyland Resort is walkable, with no transport apart from your feet required to get anywhere within the house.

This gives you an idea of when you may want to visit if you are still choosing dates, searching for the best time concerning specific events, new rides, and as mentioned above, the massive new thing is Star Wars Land, which is somewhat isolated from the remainder of Disneyland (it is nearly a park within a park, albeit one with just two rides) north of Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Critter Country.

Originally, this will offer 1 ride, 1 restaurant, meet & greets, and shopping. It will also feature a Stuntronics Spider-Man, which appears pretty cool. More is on the horizon in 2020 and beyond, but these are the key things to learn about from a planning standpoint.
